
COTP’s Youth Theatre Program engaging the at-risk population in activity that promotes individuality, training in theatrical productions, and enhances a sense of value and worth, while providing valuable vocational life-skills and experience.Through the implementation of the Youth Theatre Production Program, COTP serves the community by providing safe and healthy alternatives to youth in order to counteract engagement in criminal and deviant activities.
In addition, Chronicles of Truth Productions is partnering with local churches, schools, and other nonprofit organizations to provide a true community project for disadvantaged youth. This will assist the organization with developing partnerships, while empowering and connecting talented individuals within the community to pursue and carry out their life purpose.
The arts provide students with important opportunity to enrich their recreation and leisure. Students who are educated in the arts develop the capacity to understand and appreciate and enjoy art work and performances. A quality arts education motivates students to seek opportunities to respond to live and recorded art which can expand and enrich their lives. Arts education also aids students in skills needed in the workplace: flexibility, the ability to solve problems and communicate; the ability to learn new skills, to be creative and innovative, and to strive for excellence.
Basic skills: reading, writing, mathematics (arithmetical computation and mathematical reason), listening and speaking;
Thinking skills: creative thinking, making decisions, solving problems, seeking things in the mind’s eye, knowing how to learn and reason;
Personal qualities: individual responsibilities as well as self-esteem, sociability, self-management and integrity; and
At the completion of the program, participants will have written, produced and performed in their own “mini-theatre production.”
